Life Changes

Dirksen Senate Office Building - My Office Building
If you are reading this, you probably already know that my life has changed a lot in the past month. My apologies for not blogging sooner. Somehow my camera cord did not make the move with me and so I have a lack of photos to post. Now that I am more settled in my new life, I've ordered a replacement cord, so pictures will be coming soon - hopefully by next weekend and thus I should be blogging more frequently.

For those of you who do not know, I am now living and working in Washington D.C.

During the summer of 2009, I completed a six week legislative internship in a Senate Office. I absolutely loved living and working in D.C. during my internship and promised myself that if I ever had the opportunity to come back, I would. So, when my friend e-mailed me to tell me there was a full-time job opening (due to someone taking a job with the Governor) I decided to put my hat in the ring. After two rounds of interviews, I accepted the position on February 7th. On February 13th, I signed a lease for a studio apartment on Capitol Hill and on February 22nd I started work. So, to say this has been a quick transition is somewhat of an understatement.

Now that I am two weeks in, I am confident that I made the right decision and that this is where I am suppose to be at this point in my life. I absolutely love my job and love being apart of something so wonderful. I cannot think of a more exciting place to live and work right out of college. Living and working in arguably the most important and powerful city in the world is truly amazing and I consider myself truly blessed to be given this opportunity.

I will give more updates on work and my D.C. life soon! (Including pictures of my apartment!) So stay tuned!!! (Let me know if you have any questions!)
