About Me

I started Capitolizing on Life in November of 2010 as I prepared to graduate from the University of Tennessee. The original purpose of this blog was to keep family and friends updated on my life as I entered the work force. Shortly after graduation, I accept a job on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. and this blog became even more important to keeping my my family and friends in the loop as I moved 500 miles away from home. On Capitolizing on Life, you'll find posts about anything from my favorite fashion finds, to cheers and jeers about my favorite sports teams (Go Vols!), and almost everything and anything in between (except politics - I sometimes blog about neat events I attend or cool opportunities I have as a Capitol Hill staffer, but I mainly try to keep this free of my personal political views). In short, this is my outlet to rant and rave about my life as a twenty-something southern belle living and working in politics while wearing pearls in this big city.
